Artist's Description

A nice find in the Quinault Rainforest, Washington.

It was towards the end of a hike when I reached a split in the path. The map showed one direction back to the car but the other way showed a waterfall. I was getting tired so I paused for a bit trying to figure out what to do. Since it did not look too far on the map from the point I was at, I decided to go and try to find the waterfall. It wasn't long before I could hear the sound of rushing water. I could not see water due to the denseness of the forest. I walked a bit more then stopped and looked down the side of the bank as that is where I heard the flow of the water the most. I could not see the falls but I could see the water flowing. There was no easy path to get down below. The side of the bank was covered with leaves, a log, and branches. After assessing the terrain, I decided to craw down the log using my hands and feet on the stubs of what used to be the branches. After hopping off the log at the bottom,...
