Artist's Description
The Dutch Windmill, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.
This was completed in 1903. It was used to pump ground water at 30,000 gallons per hour for irrigation. Electric pumps replaced this in 1913. By the 1950's, it was i the state of ruin. In 1981, it was restored.
